• ❗ Do not light the fire and try to “smoke them out”. You are more likely to cause a dangerous chimney fire or fill the house with smoke.
• ❗ There could be a risk of fire or poisonous gasses. There can also be issues with disease from dead birds etc. If the nest represents a danger to the occupants of the house then it must be removed.
• ❗ Talk to your sweep about fitting a bird guard to prevent further nests and stop any more birds dying after becoming trapped.
